ZeitHaus

ZeitHaus comprises two basic elements which embody the opposites of analogue and digital. A high glass rack houses a collection of automobiles like miniatures in a compartment. It embodies the chronological, the rational, the digital memory i.e. the souvenir. The rounded bow shaped body of the ZeitHaus roofs the setting of the automobile in its social and cultural context as if on a trip down memory lane. It thus represents the associative, emotional analogue memory: the orientation. As angular and transparent the rack is as cubic, window-less and secretive as the body presents itself. Between the two building elements, bridges and staircases create the link between the right and left side of the brain like nerves.
