Spaces of an Accelerated Society - HG Esch
HENN Gallery, April 23 - June 18, 2009
For the last few years HG Esch has been traveling extensively as a photographer of architecture whose pictures have been issued in worldwide accredited publications such as Bauwelt, Architectural Review and Architectural Record. Exhibited at HENN Gallery, his large-scale photographs of cityscapes display, "MEGACITIES: Spaces of an Accelerated Society" gives us the opportunity to share his impressions of the places visited. In this installation HG Esch creates a web of metropolitan and cosmopolitan cities seemingly melting them into one single metropolis. Not only do these images bear witness to different cultures they also show similarities and resemblance, telling of one global reality. Megacities are in the process of architectural conformity and HG Esch records this fact in a unique and exciting fashion.
A classically trained photographer, Hans Georg Esch has been freelancing in architectural photography for national and international architecture firms since 1989. He lives and works in Stadt Blankenberg/Hennef.
