The most important starting point of the BioInstrumentation Centre is the networking of biological and physical research and development competencies in and around Jena, and their focus on the application areas of device engineering and medicine. In close co-operation with small and medium-sized companies, large industries with university and non-university research the available knowledge is to be implemented through innovative ideas into marketable products, processes and services.
The incubator offers biological and biochemical laboratories of level S1 and S2 as well as L1 and L2 including offices. The building can respond to the requirements of a fast developing spectrum of use by creating different options of retrofitting and late installation. The new house therefore presents itself as a flexible and variable base. The development hall will be continued with attached modules, extended in its current height, and ending to the north as a connector.
